For centuries, Christians have set aside these 40 days leading up to Easter and have intentionally created space in their lives to refocus their hearts back on Christ.

And it begins on Ash Wednesday.

On Ash Wednesday, we recognize our own humanity, our own limits, our dependence on God for every breath we breath and embrace the simple truth that without him breathing life into us we are nothing but dust and ashes. From dust we came, and to dust someday we will return.
