What does SANCTITY OF LIFE mean?
At Grace City, we believe that every human life matters.
Every single person has intrinsic worth. Whether born or unborn, young or old, healthy or sick, black or white, faithful or unfaithful - every person is made in the holy image of God. The word sanctity comes from the Latin word sanctus which means holy, sacred, or set apart. The Bible makes clear from the beginning that human life is sacred. This ties back to Genesis 1:26 when God said let us make man in our image. This means when you look around you, every human life you see has been created in the image of God and is a reflection of God. The Imago Dei.
Grace City is a family relentlessly committed to centering our lives around Jesus and each other. When we model this together through the lens of Jesus and apply our best biblical interpretation of the sanctity of life, this means we have a responsibility to help the poor, the widow, the orphan, the elderly, the immigrant, the disadvantaged, and the underserved.
Your life is sacred, and so is theirs.
To be clear, this is not a political statement but a biblical one. Our King is Jesus and our hope is that yours is too.
It’s just that simple. That’s who we are. A family learning to live like Jesus lived, and love like Jesus loved, every day.
